Silica is an abundant mineral on the earth crust, and it is in sand, quartz and any other minerals. Some minerals have pure silica but in some, silica is mixed with other elements. In silica, the sulfur and oxygen atoms joined by covalent binds to form a huge crystal structure. Silica is also present inside our bodies in considerable amounts. Silica is needed for healthy maintenance of bones, cartilages, nails, tendons, teeth, skin, and blood vessels.
* Silica sands are finer, have a consistent grain size and generally composed of singular crystal elements of pure silicon dioxide.
* Silica sand used for water purification and manufacture of glass, synthetic foundry moulding catalysts, disodium ultramarine etc. it is also used for acid heat resistant ceramics, refractories, pottery glaze, enamel etc.
